driversity of dublin Angry Prius Driver Retaliates After Being Honked At

We have an interesting situation here! In this incident, a Prius driver gets unfairly honked at so he retaliates and becomes the much bigger jerk. He abruptly and repeatedly reverses at the other driver, clearly trying to intimidate him as he's clearly lashing out in anger. He then waits for his light to turn red and then goes, leaving the guy who honked at him, stuck at the red light. I've seen this trick before. So not only did he intimidate the other driver, but he also ran a red light afterwards. There's also a chance that what he did could possibly have resulted in an assault charge, pursuant to California PC § 240. Some of you might instead be thinking that perhaps he was attempting insurance fraud. I don't think that's the case. If he really wanted to hit the guy for a fraud attempt, then he would have just done it.

I get that the driver of the Ford Focus was either ignorant and didn't see and understand why the Prius driver was stopping at a green light (to avoid blocking the intersection), or he knew and was being a jerk about it. But either way, there's no excuse for what the Prius driver did. So he got honked at. Let it go. There was no need for the extra drama. He should've saved the drama for his momma! This is not how disagreements are worked out!

The incident occurred in Calistoga in north Napa Valley wine country.
